i have a question about micro bubbles. i have them in my display and i can not figure out the problem. i will explain every thing i have in hope of finding some help.

1- 55 gal truvu w/ internal overflow. 1.25 in durso stand pipe into 1in bulkhead.

2- 20 gal diy sump w/ i would say basic bubble trap, Rio 14 Hyperflow return, Coralife super skimmer (micro bubble remain the same skimmer on or off i have ruled out skimmer.

3- i have well water. from the tap water has been through a water softner and a 75lbs activated carbon filter (have hard water) from there water was filtered w/ 24 gal per day kent RO.

tank has only been set up for two weeks. SG temp corrected 1.021
temp 83.3 F ( wife let gas fireplace heat living room 81 F today)

currently playing w/ flow, lighting, and temp once all are where i want, i will start on water chemistry and then to curing live rock in tank.

this is not my first saltwater tank, but it is my first having hard well water.
i have built 3 sumps to the same specs as the one i am using w/ no problems.

please help any ideas as to the micro bubbles???

Does your sump have baffles? You can slow down your sump intake a little with a ball vaule. You can also throw a filter sock on the sump intake just adds a little more maintance.
