Have you tried raising the skimmer pump to where it's no more than 3"-4" below the water line?

I had a similar problem with micro-bubbles when I installed my skimmer and this basically fixed the problem.

ive heard that if you place a small piece of foam in the return of the skimmer that will cut down on the bubbles. i dont have my skimmer yet but i will within the week.

heres wot i did.... i got a lunchbox from the supermarket..tupperware style..clear plastic...

then i cut out a lip..for the water to flow out of... and filled the box with a bit of sponge... direct the output of the skimmer into the box...and the outflow into the aquarium....im assuming you have a hang on tank type skimmer...

thank heaps guys for replying......yeah it is a hang on skimmer, the pump connects to a foam around 4 inches below the water line. i might try the tupperware container thing and put some spong in it, ive spoken to some shops they think it's **** SKIMMER?
My other prob to put the venturi outlet into a container, is at the moment it is only like nearly 2 inches above the water line! so we will see! thank u guys

The Jebo hang on skimmers are pretty marginal. Similar in function to a SeaClone 100. I've used 2 of them in the past on smaller FOWLER tanks. They are sitting in the basement. Technology marches on... They both made microbubbles, are difficult to keep tuned and have moderate skimming ability at the best of times. Doing the conversions off the top of my head it sounds like you have a 55-60ish gallon tank with a lot of livestock. (I don't have that much in my 90 or 210.) IMO, you want a very good skimmer on it to help handle the bioload. It is probably the most important item in your system. For a reasonable price, there are much better options.

    Good luck
