How long has it been running? Some new skimmers usually spit out a ton of micro bubbles while fully breaking in. Mine took a good month before it stopped.

You could also try adjusting your flow or placing a sponge over the outflow.

Micro bubbles won't hurt your tank, they just can be annoying to look at ;)

I agree that you should keep it running 24/7 to see if that will help out.

Try a piece of filter sock over the outflow. Less porous than a sponge. Will catch better.

Micro bubbles can cause problems in your tank. The fish can breathe them in and get the pockets of air lodged on their gills etc. My puffer had some serious air stuck in his belly once because of "new skimmer syndrome" when he was tiny. I had to squeeze his belly for him to burp out the air. It may sound ridiculous, but it's true.

this works much better then a spounge, remember to wash it out too. I solved this problem by moving the skimmer into the sump if possible.

I just see someone sitting with a beer and fish, and a puzzled look

i never think of the hurting the fish, i was always more concered with the corals. I have seen air bubbles under the slime coat.
