Nautilus- One other dumb question, how do you put the pictures in the "body" of the message? I know how to attach one below the message, but not "in" the message.

    Thanks,

I wasn't sure about the water level in the sump. I've been told that as long as it doesn't "overflow" when I shut off the pump it is ok. Now, water level in the skimmer. I had it at the "water level line" on the skimmer for a long time. When I put the blue fiber around the outlet to reduce the micro bubbles, the water level went up. The fiber is sort of restricting the return water flow some, so I had to close off the air some or it would constantly overflow.

    CU,
You are going to have to take that off the end of the skimmer, Roll up the hold blue fiber pad and put it between the bio ball and your skimmer / pump area.
have the out pipe on the skimmer flow directly onto the top of the filter pad. I have that skimmer and knew it would over flow when you restrict it like that. more bubbles is better.

The skimmer return height is adjustable. The higher you raise it, the higher the water level is in the skimmer, and vice versa. But if I open up the air line more, she'll bubble like mad! It seems to be working pretty good. That's as low as I can get the water level in the skimmer with the blue fiber on the return.
    Thanks,

The water level in the SUMP DOES effect the water level in the sump that is why we use a float switch to keep the water level in the sump around the same level so we don't have to adjust the skimmer every day. The skimmer is more productive with a steady water level in the sump. I posted a ton on float switch thread. check it out.

The pictures in the body are from other web pages or picture posted here. Find the picture you want and right click it. Go to the properties of the picture and copy the URL address. go back to 3reef reply area and select the "insert image" option and paste the url in that line. Wala you have a picture.

I will get a picture of mine soon.
    Off to work I go.

But his crud is pretty darn dark. Maybe that was before he tweaked it?  :-/[/quote]

With the water level line in the skimmer like that then the skimmer is not producing enough bubbles to get the sludge out and that why you can see it here.
It will just over flow all the time and not be as productive as it should be.

Now that I read about him reducing the bubbles, I agree with your previous post - don't reduce the bubbles to the skimmer! Defeats the skimmer.

Just changed water so the skimmer bubbles are there like they were before water change
