Yes with the foam in the big tube...below the intake, it reduced the bubbles but it started making more foam than a bubble machine...enough to lift the lid off the recovery cup.
I have noticed in some pictures that it looks like a piece is cut round and placed right below intake..but not filling the whole bottom area...I might try that approach?

if the skimmer is making too much bubbles, you need to decrease the flow. if your skimmer doesn't have an adjustment, you should be able to plumb a valve on the intake or discharge to regulate the flow through the skimmer.

Put a piece of coarse media about 2 inches from the bottom so as to keep the main bubbles from entering the return tube....walla! working great..it is producing the dark dark green gunk anyhow....so thats good.
    Thanks for your input everyone.
Still trying to post pictures though.. : (

Hello, I just purchased and installed a Jebo 180 hang-on skimmer. It seems to work ok, BUT I had a enormous amount of micro bubbles in the entire tank. I tried every setting I could think of. then I was messing with my fresh water tank and noticed the Whisper Brand Bio Bag charcoal disposable cartridge filter. "Lightbulb" came on over my head, I took the Mesh filter sock ff the frame and washed it off, then slide it over the water exit ramp from the skimmer to the tank and it fit great, and eliminated almost 100 % of the bubbles. working great and only a 3 dollar solution. I can post a pic if anyone needs to see what im talking about.

    No more bubbles pix

Here's some pix I took earlier of how I fixed my micro bubble problem. I just kinda pulled this one apart to see if it would work. I will probably do another to make it little neater. It works VERY well. My tank was filled with those bubbles until I cut it off and slid this sock type thing over the slide part. turned it back on and it worked great! I took the sock filter off the frame it comes on,and emptied the little pieces of charcoal out of it. Washed it off with regular water then installed. hope this helps someone else out.
