    I thought I would place this question in the chemistry threads bcs you people know your water.

    I was just wondering, what is so bad about micro- bubbles ? are they harmful in any way ?

    I assumed you wanted gas exchange, but in threads I have been reading it seems that micro bubles are bad news.

    Can anyone shed some light in this

    There are a handful of critters that will freak out.

    But, by and large, this concern is strictly aesthetics.

    +1 on that

    with waves crashing onto some coral reefs, the amount of air bubbles in the water
    would make our tanks look bubble free by comparison
