micro-bubbles

Hi,

I have just installed my V2 500 skimmer into my 200ltr set up. Apart from it sounding like a set of rapids it is sending loads of small bubbles into the water. they are filling a section right underneath the outlet to the sand bed and are present in about a third of the tank. Is this normal? I have played around with the flow setting and the air intake, the :froth in the top chamber is filling about 50 per cent of the tube.

 

Some skimmers new a few days to break in and will put out bubbles. If it persists there are some things we can do to help it out.

What most people do is they put their skimmer in their sump, and add baffles to remove bubbles. This is your best bet.

 

Wish i could but running without a sump. External filter is a V2 Powerbox 400 sited at the side of the base.

Just added my new powerhead, 3000ltr and will add a second in due course. Also put in a lovely toadstool leather mushroom today, its looking good so far. i will post photos soon for you all to see i would welcome any constructive critisism as i am very much a learner in this hobby, compared to most of you.
