Micro bubbles

I have some serious micro bubbles getting into my display. I am almost sure it is from the drain chamber. I have dual overflows coming down into the sump into one chamber(also houses skimmer). I have two 1" pvc pipes going down all the way to about an inch from the bottom of the sump. So they are under water. Is this the reason for all the bubbles? I had a filter sock on them and it worked well but I'd rather not have any socks or sponges. I had them dumping into the sump from like 6 inches above the water but it is pretty loud. Any suggestions?

 

Can you take a pic of your sump area? there could be several reasons why youre getting those micro bubbles..

just off the top:

1- check all your clamps and/or seals on all your return pump plumbing.

2 - check how much is coming out of the skimmer, and try adjusting that by putting a sponge around the skimmers output pipe or placing the skimmer return in such a way that the water would go through some baffles/ sponge material before getting to the return pump.

 

Thanks man. I will post a pic when I get home tonight. I know the skimmer output causes a good amount of them, but when I turn it off they are still present. I can see them going from the drain chamber through 3 baffles(over,under,over) and then into the return area. Also, If I do the gate valve mod on the skimmer. Would that help with the bubbles fro mthe skimmer since I could put the output down into the water?
