Micro bubbles

    They are pissing me off!

    I have a sponge on my return pump, but its still spitting them out, My herbie somehow has air in it! Even tho the top side is completly submerged! Im lost.

    when was this set up. i will take a week sometimes before a skimmer or pump breaks in and stops putting out microbubbles.

    Check your plumbing connections from return pump to tank somewhere there may be a small leak and create a suction of air to enter the pipe or hose ... It may not show water leaks but will allow air in...

    Thats a good point! Ill have to look at that tomorrow. The skimmer has dropped significantly in the amount of bubbles its making.


    It was fine a while ago, and I added more rock to it last night. And it raised the water level, So I cranked the pump wide open, And i think what was happening was the sponge was so full of air it was pulling it out and up thru the return. I dumbed it down and they have gone somewhat, But I want to open it up to move a lot of water thru my sump!
