Anyone using this? MB with or without Bio-Fuel? What are your thoughts? How are you dosing? Thanks all!

I used both of those products for a period of about 6 weeks

Your Mileage may vary - as every tank is different

    in my situation

I had a low nutrient system according to test kit results (0 measurable Nitrates and phosphates)

but I had an excess of micro algae - which accounted for the low nutrients (they where using them before the test kit had a chance to measure them)

    with levels like above
I was able to use the low nutrient level maintenance dose as per instructions on both products right from the start

    my opinion is
there is merit in both products

the MB 7 ensures that the free carbon in the bio fuel is being utilised by beneficial bacteria, which reduces the likelihood of negative bacteria strains being encouraged by the free carbon source

I found that using this combo made a difference early on to my algae growth and glass cleaning needs (both reduced)

I moved over to another form of carbon dosing and now Pierre Smirnoff benefits rather than Brightwell Aquatics LOL

    My dosing at finish was

3mils of bio fuel each day for my tank that holds approx 70 gallons of water
and 3 drops of bio fuel every other day of the MB7

but upon starting the MB7 - I went with 5 mils per week for 1st x 2 weeks
in order to get a good basis of beneficial bacteria to coincide with introduction of bio fuel

I have continued to dose MB7 periodically since introducing the alternative carbon source - for the same reasons - to ensure that the bacteria being encouraged by the free carbons are the beneficial types

Hmmm, Did you mean 3 drops of the MB7 every other day? I was confused by this...

3 drops of bio fuel every other day of the MB7

Sorry if I am dense. Long day at work...

    its OK

no its 3 mils of bio fuel - low nutrient dose is 1 mil per 20 gallons (the instructions state 5 mils per 100 gallons, so I use 3 mils in my 70)

MB7 its 1 drop per 50 gallons every other day or 1 drop per 25 gallons each day - so I used 3 drops daily for consistency really
