I just set up my tank today. it's a 55 gal with 90 lbs LR, sealife systems sump, and coralife skimmer. my skimmer has only been on for a few minutes. I know it takes a while to "break in". Will the micro bubbles lessen as well?

yea but i guess it does it slowly you have to put a filter sock somewhere in your sump to stop the bubble

well, with my sump it is too difficult to fit the return pump and the skimmer in there, so it is currently hanging on the back of the aquarium

I get bubbles when i add ingredients. Like iodine or calc/alk mix. It may be that you have all fresh water sense you just set up your tank. All the extra nutrients have somewhat of an oil base and sud up. When i add my ingredients, i turn the bubbles off to my skimmer for that day cause i get bubbles, and to let it all soak in:) Good luck

Try adjusting your skimmer to a lower setting. That fixed my problem.
