Microscope...useful or not?

I've been considering purchasing a fairly decent laboratory microscope and was wondering if any of you find that it is a helpful (I know it is entertaining) piece of equipment to own for your reef tanks. 8)

Any thoughts out there...it was a suggested tool along with some other thoughts in advancedaquatic online magazine.

 

Depends on how far into the hobby you want to get. My club recently had a meeting at a local university where we had the use of lab microscopes. It was certainly entertaining and the meeting convinced me to pick up a microscope as soon as I have the funds You can see some pics of what we saw under the microscopes here:

I have a microscope and yes it is VERY entertaining but in reality not of much real use
