Most powerheads come with a aerator to add oxygen to the water. Does anyone use this feature and is it an effective way to add oxygen to the tank?

Is it possible to add to much oxygen?

i know personally i never use it. my skimmer does the job well enough and i have powerheads that break the surface of the water which also helps.

It depends on the tank. A heavily planted FW could definitely have too much aeration, but for most SW, you eally can't add too much aeration. I wouldn't want the bubbles in my DT, to be honest, though.

Not to mention in a SW tank, adding air using a powerhead would put saltcreep everywhere.
