Looks like I'm in the clear. My SPS is open again today. I was worried I was going to have a problem with it all. The only thing not acting normal now is my duncan. It hasn't opened at all today, but I did move it to a better spot yesterday so maybe it's just mad at me.

 

I finally got my 20,000k halide bulb installed today, and I can't believe the pop it gives the color in my corals. My big trac brain looks just like I remember it when I picked it out from the dealer, and hopefully soon my SPS will be colored back up to full glory. I also picked up a 50/50 PC for the front of my fixture. The blue of the acnic plus the 20,000k is just too much blue for me. I'll have that on and some new pictures for everyone tomorrow some time.

Looks cool, what kind of cam do you use, and what lighting??

 

I use a Canon EOS 10D with a Sigma lens. In all the pictures it was a 250w 15,000k MH, 96w acnic PC and 96w 50/50 PC.

 

11/18/09 under new 20,000k halide bulb.

 

Today I added a second skimmer. The Coralife 125 will now be skimming wet and the new Odyssea PS 75 will be skimming dry.

I moved my second skimmer down into the sump with the other one. The Coralife is running pretty wet now and giving the tank that "is there water in it look?" The little Aquatraders skimmer is starting to get through the break in and is forming nice wispy dry bubbles. I should be seeing some nasty coffee skimmate in the morning from it.
