This has been a great post....

I just setup a nuvo 30 for my 7 year old in his room.

I have not added the skimmer yet. But I am sure it will be needed soon.

I like the mod you have done for the MP10 but in a tank this small is it really needed?

It sure seems like just placing it on the side of the tank does a real good job.

I had already order the jbj ato unit. What pump are y'all using to carry the water up that high?

In my 275 gallon tank I just use the toms cause it's just going into the sump down below so does not need to be very strong.

As for lighting I am using the AI nano and it seems to put out plenty of light for just about whatever I need.

So far we like this tank just not sure what else I need to do to it to make it even better for him.

You are exactly right. I, personally wouldn't go to the trouble again on this small of a tank. I actually don't even run the MP10 on the tank as of right now. There's only so much of the Vortech wine I can take!

I just use one of the larger Maxijet power heads. It seems to handle the job pretty well.

I found the Aqualifter to be too weak to work reliably. I switched to a BRS 50ml dosing pump.

Yeah, he was pretty cool while I had him, but I've already moved him out. No fish as of now, so I'm on the lookout for cool stocking ideas again.

Here's the new look so far. Needs more coral and fish, but it's a start.
