I used a very popular stand design from another forum to build my stand for 125 gallon reef ready AGA. Most of the credit goes out to a fellow reefer who owns a wood working shop. It is not all the way finished but i couldn't resist. We went with 2x6 for the top frame and 2x6 for the legs for added peace of mind.

We had the choice of the first pic or the second pic but we went with the second pic.

wow great job can't wait until it is all done.

I'm making a 150g stand for my dad for his tank. thinking about doing what you did. and you used good strong wood.

Thank you. Neither can I, still needs the side and bottom plywood added. We are going to stain it black i think and add covers like this for easy access since i have seen doors in the past start to bend and not close correctly. Plus its pretty modern looking.

A doller says the stand would hold the corvette....LOL. The stand does look good. I dont think you will have to worry about it not holding the tank.

according to the build design that has been used by a lot of other reefers it should be good. It said that by using the 2x6's on the top frame it will allow for no middle support in the front but i went with the 2x6 legs as well and the back supports just to be sure.
