Yesterday I come home from hangin with my friends and my tanks doing good. Everything is happy and active. so i go watch tv and do some stuff I come back up into my room and my fish tank is so so cloudy from a white substance. I freaked out immediatly. I couldn't see through one end of the tank to the other it was so cloudy. It looked as if somebody poured a bunch of milk into the tank. I don't have a clue to what happened. It wasn't calcium coming out of solution it wasn't anything harmful at all. While all this took place i looked into the tank and everything appeared to be acting normal all the corals were fully polyped. And by this morning my tank had cleared up. I did all my water tests and everything is perfectly normal. Anyone have an idea of what might have happened?

my guess , snails secreting their fertility\reproductive stuff. lol, for a better word. when they do it, looks like a chimney in winter. or have you been dosing alot of calcium recently?

    Are you suggesting something? Lol
I was going to say a bacteria bloom but if it only lasted a few hrs? Minutes? Then I guess snail idea is better.

I have had snails and urchins release spawn into the water in my tank and there wasn't enough to make the tank go cloudy. I have seen my tank go cloudy for 4-5 hours from my caulerpa going sexual. I have had a couple of bacterial blooms that last anything from 2 days to 5 days when I started carbon dosing about 4 years ago using sugar.
