I have a clownfish that has gone missing. Small ocellaris. Always out in the open, never a hider. His tank mates are a mandarin & a bangaii cardinal. Got home today from an amusement park and saw the temp at 85 (there is a big heat wave in ny currently). The mandarin is hiding ( I can see him), the cardinal is out in the open but for the first time my clown is gone. Is it bc of the temp rising or is he dead somewhere? I checked the back chambers and the floor in case he jumped, na:cry:da..

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If you have a clean up crew including hermits or narcissus snails they could consume the remains of a small clown in short order, a couple hours.

I've had a small fish slip into the back compartment on the tank, where the overflow goes. if you have one, i'd check there

I just checked my ammonia, there was a spike. Definitely bit the dust but I'm wondering why, he was fine this morning... o_o I need a water change right?

I just recently came back from vacation and had a nemo disappear while i was gone as well. This has happened to me before but I haven't noticed ammonia spikes. If you got a good clean up crew it will be like he was never there.
