I have a small 10g tank with an engineer goby, domino damsel, 3 snails and a few hermit crabs.
I just bought a feather duster the other day and now its missing....
I've looked all over the tank and took out the rocks, i sifted trough the sand and checked the filter
Any ideas on what happened to my poor feather duster?
Should I maybe check the sand again in case it got buried?
    Replies are much appreciated :)

I am not sure exactly what you mean. Do you mean the "feathers" are gone or the worm itself is not in its' tube?

They usually leave the tube for one of two reasons; They are not happy with the conditions where they are or they want to relocate which goes back to the conditions i.e. current, lack of nutrients, being harassed etc.

Hirmits may try to clean them i.e. harass them.
I collect them locally and having had scores of them, I've experienced them leaving their tubes and attaching somewhere else in the tank and growing a new tube.
It's completely normal. Just be sure that your water conditions are right and there is enough nutrients in the tank to feed it.
Dose phyto plankton and other similar foods.

Well, depending on your acclimation period, it may well just be irritated. Many aquarists do not bother to ask the LFS what their SG, Alk and PH are in the tank that they are getting their denizen of the deep from. These factors tell me the amount of time and how much of my tank water is administered at one time to the bag.

hopefully it will grow another tube. sometimes they shred their crown, but will grow a new one back in a month or so. touching the tube will cause them to get mad.
