I have a Yasha Goby that has been missing for the last week. Two weeks ago he tried to commit suicide by somehow managing to get past the fish guard on the overflow and get himself stuck in the overflow. I had to take the damn thing apart to get him out. Shortly after that, he went missing again.

We looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find him. After a week without seeing him, we'd given him up for dead.

Well, he showed up this morning. Instead of making his home along the bottom as usual, apparently one of my live rocks has a non-trivial cave inside it. The hole on the outside isn't large, but apparently there is quite a bit room on the inside. He can complete disappear in there. So deep that you can't see him at all in the shadows.

    I'll post a picture shortly.

I couldn't find my citron clown goby a few weeks ago either. Then I saw him and the next day he was sucked up against my skimmer pump DEAD. I think he just got too close and got sucked on there and couldn't get off. Thats why in the "design" of the 150 i;m setting up there will be NO pumps NO powerheads or any sort of electrical cords inside the tank. One big return pump will take care of all my water movement needs. Ok, end of rant.

Yeah those little gobys can certainly disappear quite easily and the rocks can be deceptively porous. Some are nearly hollow. Glad it showed back up!
