They can be acclimated to saltwater along with quite a few other freshwater fish,I know a green spotted puffer is another, they usually are found where a river mouth meets the ocean or close to and have adapted to accept a big swing in sg where the freshwater and saltwaters meet.

Actually Green Spotted Puffers are a SW fish, it's just that the young are usually born in FW, like salmon....but the adults are SW fish.

I aclimated my 2 tanks with the same pair of SW aclimated Mollies which had a sm brood of fry before going SW then proceeded to have 2 larger batches in the SW tanks.
-Moral of story being if you cycle with 2 or more Mollies, make sure they're of the same gender.

probably just found a good hiding spot or something, or it jumped. one question tho wouldnt it be simpler just to cycle with a clown or damsel or some other hardy fish? nothings wrong just seems like acclimating a molly to saltwater would be a pain in the butt. well i guess mollies odnt get aggressive

when I bought it it was salt water. And I wasn't sure if my tank was going to cycle, since I transfered over everything... but I have two clowns Im going to wait a few weeks and keep testing my water.
