Anyone have any idea where I can find a replacement for this? I picked up a 90 gallon reef ready tank from my LFS. They filled it once to do a photo shoot and emptied it and it sat since, hence the great deal on it. They lost the water level grate that belongs to the tank. I've been searching all over the web for overflow boxes and all with no luck. I'm hoping that someone here might have an idea as to where I can find one. I believe the tank is a Marineland predrilled with the overflow on the left hand side of the tank. I took a quick pic of it to show whats missing.

I'd try to verify the manufacturer and contact them. They should be able to provide a replacement.

EDIT: After googling some images, it appears to be a Marineland 90g Corner Overflow tank. :)

Go to the hobby or craft store and buy a sheet of the plastic mesh they use for needlepoint. You can easily trim it to fit with a pair of heavy scissors or knife.

I'm gonna try to contact marine land today. After searching last night for the tank I'm 98% sure it's a marine land also. If that doesn't work then I'm going to give that plastic mesh a try. Can't wait to start this build already. lol.

Or, use some premade vinyl 'gutter guard' from a local hardwarte/lumber supply.
Cheap, easy to cut and fasten to the area.

I use it for my DIY intank overflow.

AND, IMHO, you should plug the lower intake to the over flow area, and let all the flow be from the surface!

I was thinking of just using plastic gutter guard and folding it over the top to create a safety net incase of an "explorer" goby...that lower intake just runs through a channel behind this piece that I'm missing. There's no actual hold in the overflow wall for that lower intake. And also after calling Marineland, they don't see missing parts separate :-(....looks like either the LFS or I'm going the DIY route.

    DIY all the way!

I wouldn't have a successful system without it!

My 180 will have lots of DIY stuff also, including the Coast 2 Coast overflow I already built into it.

I can confirm it's marineland. I have the same thing under my grate

as a info only post, i was able to get my LFS to order one up from their distributer. the sell the entire corner overflow with that grate that i was missing. cost me 20 bucks and now the tank doesn't need any modding at all.

Good call on ordering from the manufacturer. I have a marineland 250 with those exact same covers. They work really well, and they fit in really tight. What is nice about them is that you can remove them and clean behind them - a major benefit over other pre-made reef ready tanks. I clean behind the ones in my tank once a month or so.
