    Nice looking tank so far. Why did you tear down the 55? Was it because of the nuisance algae and hydroids?

    I tore it down because I was bored with it:). Wanted to simplify my life a little also. The hydroid and ventricaria ventricosa are a couple of things I'm trying to avoid using a fishless/base-rock cycle.

    Glad everything's going smoothly! I'd probably get a little too impatient with base rock completely controlled cycle...

    Plus, I consider any critters that pop out of LR to be a part of the fun :p (even though some of them turn out to be the opposite of fun) Keep us posted!

    Bought a heater and dig. therm today. Getting ready to start stocking this thing. Just waiting for the weather to turn here. I've been running the lighting lately, so, it looks like it's time for a cuc........ Still need a skimmer, some chaeto, cuc, couple of fish, and some up-graded bulbs. This is the easiest tank I have ever cycled:hehe:
