Misty water

    Tank is 6 months old all params ok, got up this morning and my tank is quite misty, why could this be, only thing different i did last night is add 2 and half capfuls of Reef Calcium, Seachem, to stabilise my calcium, i also added a purple tip frogspawn 2 days ago?

    prob something to do with the reef calcium

    I would guess the calcium as well. maybe just needs time to disperse. You could try adding it as soon as the lights go off so it will clear up by the time the lights go back on.

    Slight chance it's a bacterial bloom if not calcium.

    Thanks guy's, either way how would i go about finding out which one it couldbe and possible cures?

    oh one more thing if my carbon was past its max using date say 3 months could this cause it?

    Old carbon wont make your water cloudy but it wont do anything about it either.
    Change your carbon and your water will prob clear up, if it is bacteria then.............
