    damn, i just put the purple powder into the test vial of 2ml water from the tank(salifert test kit and it turned blue straight away, damn i fear the worse

    i followed instructions and added 2 and half capfuls of seachem stabiliser, my calcium read 390 yesterday, according to bottle it adds 3mg/l per cap so should be 396ish right?

    lol its ok i just added the ca-2 its pink now, panic over, i'm new to the calcium thing since i got my frogspawn...

    be careful about using those alk - calcium supplement, you could cause the calcium in your tank to fall out of solution and made the tank cloudy. I would check your alk level. If its still cloudy do a water change to help restablize the system

    alk is 3.88meq/l dkh 10.7...? any ideas, are these params good,?


    I did leave a folded piece of seaweed in the tank for a couple of hours yesterday, but took the rest uneaten , out well much as i could catch, could this make it cloudy?

    The tank cleared up on its own accored, it crystal clear now, will this happen everytime i add the seachem , does anybody else experience this?

    Usually if a system it not 100% ionically balanced, cloudiness can appear when adding alk or calc agents. Ensuring that your Magnesium is high enough to buffer the two is key, and ensuring that one level isn't skyrocketing while the other drops. Regardless, a bit of cloudiness won't hurt your system, or it's inhabitants- but I could certainly see how it would make one panic.

    How can i raise my calcium safely and what would be the ideal range?
