Alright so i have a flame angel in a 55 gallon sps dominant tank. And I really like the yellow dwarf angel fish. I want to get one but i heard that you cant mix angelfish. is this true or can you not mix them withthe same kind of angelfish. because there body shapes are different and same with there colors so would they still fight.

I wouldn't risk it. There are always exceptions to the rule, but you will most likely come out with just one angel in the long run anyways ;) You already have a flame that is behaving around SPS, I would count the blessing there and leave it be ;)

I agree with Jason. My coral beauty has killed (indirectly) two competing flame angels who were introduced to the tank (and a 75g at that).

I think I'm lucking out so far... I have a coral angel beauty and a bi color angel-- The coral was added first and gave the bi color a hard time for the first day, but things seem to be okay now. Once in a while the coral angel will taunt the bicolor, but nothing major...

Like others have said above, it all depends on the specific fish and it's luck of the draw. I got scared when adding the bicolor angel, thankfully it turned out for the best--

it is pretty much like they say just a hit and miss similar to when you are doing coral w/ a dwarf angel they might nip at it maybe not. I dunno 55 gallon kind of small to have 2 angels in though on my opinion. Also how many fish do you currently have in the tank right now?

I wouldnt chance it! They might fight

But especially not in a SPS tank! You will wake up one day and see them munching on your corals! I have a female bellus angel that I have had now for 8 months. She is supposed to be "reef safe" and for 8 months she has not touched anything! Now I am noticing that my clams are closing up a little and one in particular looked like it had a pinched mantle! I watched carefully and that dumb angel is having a little feast out of my clams! Now I have to decide what I want more..my clams or my bellus. I love both! If I can catch the bellus she might wind up in my puffer tank, but then I am afraid my puffer will go after her! Though honestly it is a moot point right now...no way I can get her out without demolishing my tank!

I just wouldnt risk another angel with corals..even reef safe ones can turn!
