I want to start making frozen food mixed cubes. I plan on using mysis, reef plankton, and cyclops. Is it safe to thaw these out in the fridge then put them in small ice cube trays to refreeze or will the food go bad?

Alot of people do that...I just cut my cubes in half or thirds, and defrost them together at feeding time in a shot glass. I cut 5-6 cubes at a time and keep them in a small tupperware container in the freezer door shelf.

I buy 16oz flat packs of all my food and breaking everything apart isn't exactly the fastest thing to do

I do something like Robman. I take about 7 or 8 different cubes along with scallop, snapper and nori, and melt them in a dedicated plastic cup. I then mix and refreeze to create a mother puck that has some serious variety. To fed I just dip it in the tank for about 2 seconds or less, and plenty comes off.

I've had no issues thawing pre-made cubes and refreezing them.

Alot of people really like Rods food. I tried it, and was one of the ones who did not. I am sure it is good, but it had no large pieces. I feed Tangs, and I like P.E. Mysis. Large shrimp so less goes into the rocks.
