Anyone have any experience with this situation? I want to mix a midnight ocellaris and a platinum percula. I've read a few situations where its worked but wanted yalls opinions. Appreciate any responses!

I have no personal experience with combining these species, but I would think you would run the risk of aggression between 2 different clowns even if they were both percula or ocellaris. It is probably just as likely for them to get along as it is for them not to.

I would think your chances are better if introduced at the same time... But I have no experience with this as well

I agree, especially if you can get them the same size.

I've seen many tanks with perc/oc pairs, including different designer species, and aside from the mating ritual being mistaken for bullying, I've never heard of any excessive aggression between them. As mentioned though, I'd get them young and introduce them together.

you could also get a Wyoming White instead of the platinum, its essentially the same as a platinum but an Occelaris. Heres a pic of my Wyoming White paired with my Domino Clowm _MG_4933.JPG

Thanks the black and white contrast is my favorite so I searched for a while to find these two. Got em both the same size and they paired up instantly. Best of luck with your search.

I have a big female perc and got a small occ because I couldn't find another smaller perc and all is well. I think they are very similar in body shape where it isn't a problem. Just make sure it is smaller.
