I wantto dip a favia that has something eating it. like a parasite or whatever. Can I just pick up iodine from the store and mix it with saltwater to do the dip?

I used to have the 'recipe', but don't anymore (cleared the wrong PM it seems). Linda (cuttingras) has done this in the past. If Linda is still on here (I haven't seen her in a while), she could tell ya.

A quick freshwater dip(10 seconds or less) should also do the trick. Has worked for me in the past for pest such as flatworms.

Problem with FW dips is for certain buggers say nudis you need to dip them for sometime in the FW to be effective... Zoos can handle 10 mins in FW but many SPS esp monti spongodes do not like being in FW and the nudis will handle the FW longer than the monti will.

You could just buy some Lugols or Coral cure just to have the proper dosage, or read the directions on there and try to figure out how much Iodine to use...

I found the seachem dip locally. I'm going to try that today.
