Are you really going to put the sump in the stand? If so, I would strongly suggest not doing that. I had planned to on mine, and I re thought it so I had easy access. Here's an old pic.

So you don't want the SWC 250 S2. It has two Sicce pumps and I would not go that route. You want the SWC 300A with the askoll pump. It puts out comparable numbers to the Bubble Blaster 5000 on the SRO. Either of those pumps would do you, but the Askoll is a better quality at this point.

Personally i don't see the need for recircs.... and are you going external... because some of these are external and some are not. Is it going in a sump?

Would be best if you have the space to do it the way you have it.

Regretfully, sump and refugium and two part dosing and ATO and EVERYTHING ELSE has to go in the stand. It will be a VERY space efficient design.

Remind me sometime to tell you about when I helped one of the astronauts back her bras for a space station mission in order to save packaging space. Funny Story.

    Sump and Refugium Design

    Check out the attached pictures.

Custom Plywood-build sump/refugium. One picture shows the sump/refugium installed in the frame, one shows just the sump/refugium and one shows the sump/refugium with the top, front, and glass pieces cut away.

    Feedback appreciated as always.

By the way, that is a Warner Marine AS-300 Skimmer in there.

Return Pump in the center section.

Refugium on the left side with 6 inch DSB.

Ok, so you will tee off the drain line from the tank to fed the fuge? or will it be teed off the return line?

Looks good, just make sure you have enough room to work in/on the sump.

And make sure to leave enough room for water in the sump when the return is off.
