Put a small fan in there to pull the moisture out?

Or paint water/moisture repellant in there, but u must seal the wood with yacht varnish/sealer.

Or you won't keep it dry and safe.

Would thompson water sealer do the same thing? The inside of my stand isnt sealed either. The whole back is open though. Thinking about cutting in a couple holes, one on each side of the stand and mounting fans to pull moisture out. Allen bradley makes some small fans I use to use on control panels to pull heat out. Thinking they would work great.

We had that problem too. We pulled the hood off and scrubbed it with 50/50 bleach solution. It's been doing good so far, but I am also working to get a fan mounted to improve circulation and also aid in tank cooling. We were hesitant applying any varnish or other material to cover/protect the wood surface.

The inside of my stand and hood are just painted in white exterior latex. I would scrub the mold well with bleach before painting or sealing though. Then use a stain blocking primer on the mold spots before painting.

Thanks guys I have been working out of town since this and the mold is still there so I'm going to try 50/50 with bleach and then let it dry and seal it. I'm also going to try and seal my sump with plastic since the tanks running I don't have anything important in the tank but I would like to soon as the mold is out.

Why is the inside wet? IN stand sump? Are you in a humid area?

So, we have a mold issue on our windows at the APT complex we are at because of the tank, Run a dehumidifier, get those gloves on you use for the tank, and some face protection. And wipe the stuff away as much as you can with as little water. It all comes back even with bleach, moldex etc etc. We are almost through the battle with dry manual removal. I know its hard with it being inside the tank stand but, not sure how that is even that way cause nothing near our tank has mold on it as of now. Knock on wood.
