Woah! I feel like I probably know quite a bit when it comes to fish in general, but this one I had no idea! Thanks man! I'll file that away on a wrinkle in my brain for sure. That's good info!

um, are you sure?? From what Ive read, and done, ich in FW is a fungus of some type. If you put non-iodine salt in the water it will help the fish with stress, and help kill the ich. If you make a SW bath it will kill the ich really fast. In like 8 years ive never had a fish die because of ich, I just give them a SW bath and the ich is gone is a matter of days. Fungus cant survive in SW. But that page seems right, Ive just always thought is was some kinda fungus. Mybe it is like what happens with SW fish in FW, the cells explode because of the SW and kills the ich, ????

Where did you read or who told you that a fungal disease is not possible in saltwater ? and I know that F.W ich is a parasite same as in S.W I have head it said that a fungus is not able to live in saltwater But I have seen many cases of a fungal problem in marine fish.. And freshwater ich aka Ichthyophthirius multifiliis is a single celled parasite.. You will read all sorts of stuff in this hobby I found most I read was just anther persons opinion that I paid for. :)

Also I'd have to assume the Arthur of that book never heard of Ichthyophorius ? An internal fungal disease where the freshwater is :) Experts LOL there are many more i just don't recall them right off but this is the most common one it starts from the healthy fish eating decomposing fish flesh and fecal matter..

:p, well two agenst one. I guess you guys win. I dont remember were I read that, but it was along time ago. But I still agree with the salt in freshwater to relive stress, and to help with internal parasites. LOL, rotting fish, and fecal, that is a good one. I guess you just have to take thangs in stides in this hobbie. The best way to figure it out is to just do it, and learn from it. I dont know why the fish recovered so fast from the SW bath, but mybe it just help slow the infection down enough that the fish could fight it off. Thanks guys for correcting me, I hate sounding stupid, lol.
