Molted shells

What do you do with your molted shells

    I only remove them when I am able to take them out easily. Else, I leave them in and the vermetids and other detritivores "inspect" it.

    Got a scare this morning: It looked like my arrow crab was eating my banded coral shrimp. Luckily, it turned out to be the shrimp's molted exoskeleton, and not the shrimp itself! Good news about this molt: the shrimp had lost his claw arm a few weeks ago (looked like it got caught between some rocks). After this molt, he has a new right claw! It's smaller and skinnier than the original.
