Molted shrimp quick question

    My shrimp molted last night or i think thats what its called. Should i remove the skin from the tank or leave it in there?

    Sometimes they will eat a portion of it for minerals for their new exoskeleton and sometimes they won't.

    It won't hurt anything if you leave it so it's really your call.

    I always leave molts in the tank.

    I usually leave mine in the tank, just cause I cant reach it. Unless the head floats up and sits on a coral.

    The only time you really need to remove the molt is if your shrimp has a disease. For instance, I dont even see the molt when my Peacock molts, she eats it right away. but when she had soft shell disease, It was like looking after a newborn waiting for her to molt so I could take it out!

    Well my shrimp is fine, and i decided to leave it in there. I never heard anyone tell me to take it out so it must be fine. Thanks for the responses

    I don't remove molts anymore. If the tank is larger than a 55 gallon, the molt couldn't create enough dead material to throw things off. Live and let live. Die and let die.

    i left all my molts in the tank even from the hermit and emerald crabs.... few days later there's nothing left
