I have learned a TON on this site - one of the things that intrigued me was that many fish actually like veggies. I just never considered it that way. I have seen where many of you make your own food and include veggies in your mixes.

"Veggies" are something I associate as a human thing (hope that makes sense) - all those formative years of being made to eat garden vegetables like peas, broccoli, etc etc... Thankfully all those years paid off - i LOVE veggies - peas and broccoli included.

While having some peas this evening with dinner, i decided to smoosh a couple between my fingers and offer them to the tank.

Holy moly! all my fish had some right from my fingertips - even the goby shot out from his cavern and grabbed a small piece that floated down to where he could reach it. My emerald crab ran off with a piece of his own
firmly locked in both claws and one of my polyp corals closed itself around a piece as well - and it didnt spit it out!

It was just one of those delightful moments - i could actually share a tiny bit of what i was having while knowing it was beneficial to them. (Frankly - i still dont like the taste of flakes or Rod's Food so this worked out pretty well tonight...)

That's great. i think peas are supposed to be good for fish. it is a recommended treatment for swim bladder disease due to constipation, so this could work as a preventative measure.

Peas are an age old trick used by scuba divers to attract fish to see while down there swimming around. They go crazy for them....
