I know that similar products exist for monitoring energy usage, but I saw this product from Belkin on-line today, and I'm considering getting it just to see what the monthly cost of running my tank actually is.

Belkin : Conserve : Insight : Get clearer insight into your electric bill with Conserve Insight.

Or maybe I'm better off not knowing..... LOL

Anyone else track their costs this closely? It could provide great information if you want to put together a business case for your spouse about the long term savings of that expensive new LED lighting fixture you want. ;D

I like the remote display on the Belkin though. With all the equipment in my tank stand cabinet, I can barely see the wall outlet as is. LOL

I use a kill a Watt meter myself (model p4460). You'd be surprised at how much electricity just your lighting is setting you back.

all you have to do is add up the watts your equipment consumes and look at your electric bill to see how much it costs. Mine was around $25/month for my 90g w/ MH and no chiller.
