thought I would start a thread for my new tank.its a 65 gallon, 36 x24 x18.my lighting is a innovative marine single strip led 14k and a single strip actinic light.I have two korilla powerheads and and am running a canister filter. I set the tank up December 8th 2013with 60 pounds of aqua max dry reef rock and 60 pounds live sand.after the tank cycled I added eight pounds or so of live rock.I added my first fish a Blue Reef chromis on January 27th 2014.my plans are to add 2 maybe 3 blue chromis, 2 clown fish, diamond goby and I really want a yellow tang or a one spot fox face. Allso in future id like to do some soft corals, possibly some lps with some with some upgraded lights.

    Great start. :)

Now all the fun begins. Next, magnifying glass, flash light and handy ID threads/books for the hitch-hikers to come.

I have seen some kind of snail, and unfortunately a couple aiptasia popped out. I picked up some blue vet aiptasia rx. I thought it was read sea aiptasia x, but I cant find that at any store near me. This weekend I was going to pick up a couple snails, peppermint shrimp, and was thinking some red leg crabs. Thats a good idea with the flashlight.

Its been a couple months now and every things going good with the tank. Im taking it slow and so far have two blue chromis, one clown fish, two peppermint shrimp, 5 snails and 4 red leg crabs. I also picked up some polyps, star polyps and a green mushroom. I wasn't liking the idea of picking up water from the lfs, so I picked up a ro/di filter and going to get that running this weekend. A couple things I've noticed is im getting purple coralline algae on my (dry) rock but also noticed a very bright yellow algae looking stuff I dont know what it is,
But the purple algae grows in the same places as the yellow does, so was wanting to know if somebody knows what this is.

Over this past weekend I added a bi color blenny. Seems to be doing good and is very active. I tried to gets some pics of the guy but doesn't like my tablet chasing him around the tank to get a picture of him;D
So from here im not sure what to add next, I want that center piece fish, something bigger and brighter in color. Was thinking a one spot fox face and coral beauty, or a yellow tang.
Im unsure of the tang and my tank size. Im not opposed to moving the 2 blue chromis out to another tank. Any suggestions on a fish is appreciated.

I don't have any recommendations on a fish, but your tank is looking great!
