I mounted 2 monti caps a month ago and it doesn't seem to set a foot down. I messed with one of the mounted frag and it came off very easily. I know monti caps don't encrust but shouldn't it at least attach it self at the bottom instead of relying on the glue?

They do take time to grow and while they may not "encrust" they should cover the tile given time. It may that the corals needed to recover from the stress from being fragged. Some corals take a while when stressed or introduced into a new aquarium before they start to grow normally

Yea it should attach eventually, I bought a monti cap frag several months ago from my LFS and it was already attached but they had a few that weren't attached yet. Not sure exactly how long it should take.
