We have had two rather large Orange Plate Monitporas for about 2 years. They started out about the size of a silver dollar and now they are about 12inches around with multiple swirls. We actually had to sell one because it was robbing some of the other corals from light. About a week after we sold the Montipora, now mind you, they were absolutely beautiful at that time. The one we kept has begun to bleach...Ph 8.4, Alk 9 dkh , Calcium 420, Magnesium 1320, Salinity is a bit high, 1.28 working on getting it down now, temp 80. Ideas??? And as an aside, all of the other corals in the tank are doing well. We have a Duncans Whisker Coral that has grown from 5 heasd to over 25, leather corals doing well, LPS's growing well, Xenia out the ying yang, LOL, etc....

Could the flow have changed. I would frag off the bleached parts to try and save the colony

I fragged off a piece off of my Purple Monti and its doing great now. It took a few weeks. Only do it if the white is expanding

Not really, I installed a Koralia Wavemaker system right after Xmas and the tank has been thriving...I hate to frag it, but that might be a choice I have to make...Ughhh
