montipora cap question?

    hey guys.. im not sure whats going on. my purple montipora cap its getting whiter?

    I also see that some cyano and film algae actually accumulates on it ( i sorta softly take it off with my finger) .. i have a powerhead pointing straight at it and it still doesnt stop it from getting there?

    any thoughts?

    Mine turned whiter (started bleaching) after it got stung by aiptasia and when i changed my lights. but it colored up after the light change, then died from the sting.

    Sounds like the bulbs are changing spectrum's. Sounds like you're due a bulb change.

    i do have aipstasia but this monti isnt near one enough to get stinged by one. I also have it high enough on the tank so the lights shouldnt be an issue..

    When i upgraded from PC's to LEDs mine started to change to a whiter color so i moved it down and it did fine.

    You will probably need to lower the coral or raise the light IME.

    It's not as white as it looks on the picture.. The white is actually purple not sure why it came out like that..

    The only white parts are at the edges and a little bit on the top.

    thats the best i can do picture wise.. my iphone and lights wont allow me to do a more focused picture..
