I have a orange monticap frag that has grown considerably in the five weeks it's been in my tank.It also appears to be thickening and the area that's becoming thicker(most of the coral) is whitish.I was afraid that it was being burned and moved it down to the sandbed and also turned down my led light but now I'm wondering if this is just normal growth and maybe I should give it a little more kight so that it doesn't brown out.Everything else in the tank is doeing very well including soft corals lps on the sandbed and a birdsnest frag that is up high.Sorry ,don't have the ability to add pics.

Pictures would be a huge help. Growth rings around Montipora's are often white.

Agree with both. A white "lip" is a good sign. Picture would help.

Typically they do better on rock than on the sand bed, is this correct? You mention it was growing good on the rock. Probably should have left it where it was and then ask this question. As requested picture please.
