I have a green spot Monti and a purple monti frag in my tank. I have had them for about 3 months now. The past week I have noticed little brown spots, almost like brown algae on them. My tank parameters have been pretty much spot on the whole time. I was wondering if there were any ideas out there of what it could be? I have taken my coral feeder and squeezed it next to the montis and some of it comes off and some doesnt. Its really weird, I dont know if its an excess of zooanthelle or what?

Without pics, I couldn't tell you. Is it both of your montis?? how close are they?? Could be the dreaded monti eating nudibranch

Ok well my girlfriend took the pics, Im still bad at taking pictures of the tank. After further review these montis are starting to look bleached to me. You can also see the brown spots on them as well, I have no idea whats going on, gonna check params again tonight.

Im just doing my regular alkalinity buffer, iodine when needed, Mg when needed, Brightwell Aquatics Calcium/Salferits Coral Grower, running about 325 watts T5 lighting. All my other corals seem to be taking off, just my montis seem to really be falling apart.

They are not overly close to the top, lemme see if i have a picture to post on where they are located. Ok I found a picture, this is an old pic, just after aquascaping, you can see the two montis on the right and left. The big Monti in the middle does not seem to be affected or so it seems.

For flow I have a Koralia 400gph and a 1200 gph in the tank. Its a lot of flow because its an 80 gallon bowfront. Water just shoots around this tank, really hard to set pumps up in.
