I am currently running T5's but I cant turn off one bulb and leave the actinic on for the moon light look, and I dont want to buy a whole new light fixture just for the moon light effect so I was wondering what brand or type of lighting should I get for the actinic look? I heard LED lights are used for this sometimes, would it effect of damage my coral at all?

if you wanted just a cheap way of moonlights..get on ebay and type in moonlights..it should pull up just some blue led moon tubes...either way all you need is some blue lights to get the moonlight effect of the corals...i love mine, i have the lunar cycle ones that dim to whatever the moon outside is doing, and absolutely love it, they make my corals glow awesome colors, and it keeps my fish running into the nems..

Yeah i love the look of the corals with the moon light, so did you buy a specific brand or did you just buy blue lights and such?

it really doesnt matter about brand..most fixtures now come with them..mine came with them and i also added the dimmers to copy the real moon..supposedly you need moonlights to burn at 470nm to mimic the real moon for spawning and creating an environment as close to the real thing..but i think that is BS..as long as you have blue lights above your tank, your greens will turn yellow, and reds will turn pink, and oranges will turn super bright orange...if i were you i would just get on ebay and start looking, they have long tubes that be mounted and they also have ones that is just one bulb that i like better since its sleek and doesnt take up a bunch of space...

    heres some good dimmable ones:
Neptune Systems Dimmable Lunar Simulator - 2 LED - eBay (item 200522529054 end time Jan-20-11 06:31:17 PST)
Neptune Systems Dimmable Lunar Simulator - 4 LED - eBay (item 200507733500 end time Feb-08-11 13:38:39 PST)

    non dimming:
ECO PLUS LUNAR LIGHT AQUARIUM REEF MOONLIGHT 470nm BLUE - eBay (item 400169843269 end time Feb-01-11 18:01:24 PST)
