This is my husband's account, so please for forgive me if my questions are stupid.

DH's birthday is coming up and I want to buy him something for his aquarium. He has a 45-gal tank that already has 2 clown fish, blue tang, 2 shrimp, nuclear green zoas, some orange zoas, kenya tree and 1 mushroom (do not remember the name of it). He started his aquarium a year ago and is slowly trying to get more things.

Anyhow, I want to get him something for his tank and don't want to ask to many questions so he doesn't figure it out. What would be a good addition?

Also, he wants to buy moon light for his aquarium. Can anyone educate me on that? What's a good one that isn't too expensive?

    TIA!

first i would remove that tang unless hes about 2 inchs in size thats torture
moonlights in my experience are great but breakdown very easily
look up that pet place and type in stunner leds never get anything other than blue it stress's fish dont suprise him with any new corals unless you dip them yourself which i figure you dont know how to do just stick with equipment not livestock unless its inverts because the risk of disease or parasites is about 1%
maybe a queen conch or a tiger cowrie

There are many LED moonlight options out there.

I personally have Lunar Simulated Lights, that match the moons cycle. Those are by Neptune systems and run with their Controllers.

Otherwise Current USA makes some as well that are just plugins as well as R2.

ebay has lots of moonlights also. They really are just for night viewing, so you don't have to get anything fancy or expensive.

R2's are good, It comes down to personal preference with them.

With my lunar simulator Im simulating the moon cycle and dimness with them. Kinda why I enjoy them.

Can you explain what your issues are with R2's?

I just don't want to buy something that isn't any good

Do you recommend the controller as well? What is the best place to purchase these two items?

Also, any suggestions as to what I can get him to add to his aquarium? (I would give it to him as soon as I receive it to avoid putting them in improperly.. Any coral recommendations that are for beginners?
