I have had moon lights on my tank with my ReefKeeper and I have went to a Apex system and was thinking of getting the Lunar Simulator that they have. I want to see if people are running them or if I should just save my $$$$ and not run Moonligths

Over the years, I've read everything from the 'experts', from, "lunar cycles affect spawning", to, "any ambient light interferes with nighttime activity". Personally, I believe both to be false. In my experience and that of some others, with or without it your livestock will adapt, making moonlight mostly a personal choice.

agree, i personally would not go without some sort of nocturnal lighting, not only for esthetic reasons but also because i have personally heard and seen my diamond goby jump when it was pitch black darkness.

with my current set up there is a period where my tank goes dark for a coupe hours, i programmed my lights like this in order to give the opportunity to my fish to pass out, around 9pm night lights start slowly coming up till the reach their peek programmed intensity at about midnight and stay on that intensity till about 3 am. after this they gradually turn off at about 4am and at 6am day lights start slowly kicking in.
