    I know. I can't get rid of it... I figured it was just diatoms however... but the urchin is happy :D

    Can anyone tell me how to resolve the algae issue I seem to have? I don't know what to do with it. All params are good... help?!?

    Love your lid! Very nice looking.

    Looks like diatoms to me! Mine looked just like that in my 37 gallon. Give em 2-3 weeks to go away. It's good!!

    I thought they were diatoms, but they are stringy when I look at them... and my glass seems to be covered in it as well.... just wanted to make sure the tank was healthy...

    Well....diatoms usually aren't stringy...it could be a mix of diatoms and cyano. Cyano is usually a purple/red color.

    These are definately not purple... could be a dark red... more brown than anything I guess.... I don't know... it is starting to bother me though

    I'd give it 2-3 weeks to see if it goes away - diatoms will. You just have to deal with the ugliness for awhile. Get a bunch of astrea snails - they love diatoms!
