HELLO DOES ANYONE USE ROPE LIGHT AS A MOONLIGHT.  IF SO WHERE DID YOU CAN GET IT.  IVE SEEN SOME WEB SITES THAT SELL ROPE LIGHT BUT THE WATTAGE SEEMS TO HIGH.  THEY ARE ~0.5W PER LIGHT AND 1 LIGHT PER INCH AND MOST MOONLIGHTS ON THE MARKET SUGGEST 1-2W PER 2FT OF TANK.    ;D

    hello, JOER0178,

i am very sleepy right now, been working to much, bare with me;)

i do use the rope lights and have used the LEDs, 17 of them on my tank

with the LEDs, they gave a better, IMO, look, But the rope lights are cheaper and easier to use, i still need to get a pic of the moon lights

i bought the rope light at Home depot, cant remember the cost, or the wattage, sorry, but they do work well

most HD stores have them, i have even seen them at wall-mart

i have gota go now, i keep falling asleep ;), just wanted to let you know that i use them, and they work well

    have a good 1

I used the same method as Iceman, except i use about 5 lower wattage LEDs for a 30 gallon tank

I don't have any myself yet, but I plan on making/purchasing some. If I remember right, I think Nautilus said that he bought some rope lights at Home Depot. Next time I go there I'm going to look for some myself. I'm also going to take a crack at making some of the ones with LED's that you hear a lot about. The pictures I've seen look pretty cool, and I guess they are a positive for your night time tank behavior.
