Hey, I just bought my 2nd Moorish Idol from my LFS. Its already eating Mysis shrimp. It will be in QT at the store for 2 weeks and then will go into my QT for another 2 weeks. I'll post pic's in about a month since I finally bought a digital camera.;D

Please tell me that the idol is going into the biggerr tank and that you're aware of their feeding requirements? I love these fish but am not willing to the extra steps needed to keep the fish well fed and healthy. If you've had long term success with them in the past, more power to ya and please tell us what you do to keep this fish well fed and healthy :)

I already have 1 moorish idol that has been eating everything - all the frozen formula foods 1 & 2, frozen mysis and plankton. It also eats freeze dried brine shrimp, and formula 2 spirulina pellets which is great for when I go on vacation. I feed 2-3 times daily. The M. Idol I just purchased will go in my 120g long with my other one. I will be removing my tomato clown and royal gramma to make room. They will eventually get too big for the 120g but I'm saving for a 220g tank and hope to have it up and running in 1 yr.

I guess I've been lucky so far. I didnt buy these fish on a whim, i've done alot of research on them and their requirements. I've had the first M. Idol for several months and its growing in size. These fish tend to do better in pairs and I finally found a healthy second one thats eating and is about the same size as the one I already have.

For those of you who might want to buy one I recommend that you be very experienced, have a large enough tank, and plan on feeding 2-3 times a day with sponge and algae containing foods.
Oh, and one last requirement, Pray for Good Luck!!
