hello i wish i could have a sump but with a 44 gal corner tank thier is no room at all for one. i drew a diagram of my current tank setup. i was thinking of adding a above tank trikle filter. i would install a long rectanular container under the spray bar, the water would trickle out the spray bar threw a layer of filter floss under that would be a media of some sort,(ideas), the the water would trickle back out to the tank threw slits in the lower side of the container. im hoping this would aid filtration, and remove the annoying micro bubbles.
has anyone with out a sump used this filter? will this aid in filtration?if so what media would be best?what would you all do to keep your water prestine if you could not have a sump? any ideas appreciated?

wish I could help but I'd be interested to see how you made your skimmer setup

Is it too late to drill? Is the tank empty?

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do here what is the the line on the skimmer out ? Is that a spray bar ? To tell you the truth a spray bar is as about as useful as udders on a bull They really don't do anything except cause salt creep and spray everywhere.. A simple Korolla 2 would move all the water you'd want in a small tank like this. As for Micro' bubbles elevate the skimmer and add a carbon container so all the water from skimmer has to run through carbon Floss will not be needed . This is if I understand the drawing correctly ..

yeah its a spray bar, yeah it really dosent do much. good idea i think ill just have the skimmer empty threw some carbon, much easier. ive kinda changed my mind and thinking of a diy refugium.my other idea really had no purpose now that i think about it. but once again limmited on space. i would like the fuge to primarily produce pods for my scooter dragonete. how small can i make a fuge and still have it serve a purpose. look at my diagram and tell me what you think would be a good idea to help produce more pods. i also reaad it will help lower nitrates. my nitrates are at 5ppm last time i checked, but 0 is better. Are thier different fuge setups for different purposes. sorry i just changed the topic but after a night to sleep on my last idea, i realized a fuge would be much more beificial.my goal is to add a lil extra filtration and primarily produce pods. what would you all do? remember limited space,no drilling my tank is filled and cycled already.

2T2 crash thier is my old thread under skimmers, and DIY about how i did my skimmer, very basic design cost me about 10 dollars, not including pumps. its works much better than you would imagine, and very easy to clean.
