More info on this sponge?

    I borrowed this pic from the ID This library.
    I found something similar in one of the other threads on this front page as well but the name that came with it doesn't look to be correct, at least from searching google images it doesn't.

    I have this on almost EVERY piece of rock in my tank and it's spreading. Is this a bad thing, maybe a harmless filter feeder? I haven't been able to find any other pics online or any info on it. I've recently had a bloom of it and can't figure out why. It's spread so far as to actually attach two pieces of LR together in the tank!


    It's these tubes, exactly like this, that are weaving in and out of the pores in my LR. Any info guys?? Thanks in advance!

    They are harmless, you could prune them back if they get invasive. I have quite a few as well and they have never been a problem.

    Well, it's beginning to grow on the tube of my soft-tube duster worm...... This stuff is absolutely nuts!

    Pretty lucky, i have an emperor angelfish (which love to eat sponges) but haven't been able to get him live sponges.
